The thecnology also dances

[...] The performance-dance is quite novel and produce very different sensations: claustrophobia, release, nature ..., Alicia Soto has created a new form of expression for her company that can not remain indifferent to the viewer, both for its quality and the intensity of her work.

The incorporation of new technologies to the performing arts is something that has gone to beat over time. In recent years developers have researched how to use the technology and even science to be not only part of the stage, but own the same player. The two solos that make this show of the company Alicia Soto Hojarasca, are the result of 5 years of creation, based on the research of the artist in their performances on the reality-fiction concept, from CreAcción of "Woman without Memory" to get to 2010 with the performance "My way, but who is James."

Alicia Soto is a survivor who never sits still . Director and founder of the company Hojarasca, it moves almost alone in contemporary dance in Castilla-León. Her inquiry takes work to build scenic areas, using its own technical means of the performing arts to reach the computer programs to multimedia. New technologies can create new languages in new venues. Alicia Soto plays with reality-fiction concept, a set of appearance and deception, illusion the viewer into believing the image ever since, a situation as it develops in the show, the reality is another, playing the imaginary primarily a public asset.

In this work, on a kind of cabinet is projecting an image that opens the door to see a nude dancer who is moving on her, constantly rotating. The video follows the recorded image and slides into the water and then the water turns red in metaphorical expression. The video has been made without breaks or cuts in fake live. Keep projecting and suddenly, from which we thought was a door that kind of "closet", a shock occurs because the body seems out of the screen creating a fake 3D image. The feeling is incredible.

But missed the second part, the performance entitled "My way, but who is James." Displayed on sand, sand that seems to breathe and hide, like a bug stand out from it. In fact it is the dancers themselves upstage buried under ground and a coffin on which was installed a camera. Gradually, the body goes out and nudity of the dancer is whitish on the ground until it is released and begins a very fast dance almost liberating. The performance-dance is quite new and very different sensations produced: claustrophobia, release, nature ..., Alicia Soto has created a new form of expression for her company that can not remain indifferent to the viewer, both for its quality and intensity of her work.
